This past weekend my mother came to visit me at school. Bearing Easter gifts, she picked me up in her husbands new car (a two door, I hate two doors). We drove out to the Burlington Coat Factory wear I spent more money than I was expecting, but with such great deals, it was hard to resist! Following the BCF we went to the Northgate mall...this is where the story begins.
My mother informed me that a girl named Shaela contacted my aunt. Shaela asked my aunt about our family finally stating that she was a part of it. Shaela is my aunt; we've never met. Her father is my biological grandfather, my mother's father. This was a shocking revelation for many reasons, the biggest being that now a single person knew where my grandfather was since he disappeared from the family before my time. I knew/know nothing about the man that is positive, but I'm curious about him. I want to know him, but does he want to know me?
It turns out, my aunt met up with Shaela to fill her in on our family in person. During this meeting, Shaela told my aunt where my grandfather lives...he's been living in my hometown for many years; nobody, not even he, knew. What if I've seen him before and never knew!? Think about it. All these years I could have had a relationship with my grandfather.
Shaela and I are now friends on Facebook. She seems nice. I'd love to meet her and the rest of this mysterious family I have.
This post was written a while ago, but I forgot to post it... :)
