A New Kind of Class

As tax day quickly approaches, April 15th for all those who don't know, I find myself a little upset. No, not because it looks like I will be PAYING taxes this go around, but rather because I feel like we don't get taught the important things. For example, I have no clue how to file my taxes, what all the forms mean, what to include and what not. Another example, when I was applying for student loans, I didn't know what the best type was to get or what any of the fine print meant. I didn't slash kind of still don't understand what work-study is. I don't know anything about credit scores, besides that they all kind of a big deal.

I just don't know.

I see too many things as being practical things to know how to do or know about now, but especially in the future. When will I learn these things? Who will teach me? Will I be a lost soul forever trying to figure out these life details?

Sure, you would think a parent could teach you, but here's the thing: my parents don't know how to do these things! Who will I turn to? That is why I think that there should be a class that teaches you all of these practical tricks of the trade of life. Sure, it sounds boring, I think so to and I'm the one brainstorming it, but think of the things you could learn to do! So many tools of life can be taught in such a class, not fun tools, but useful. And another thing with this, is that I want to be able to be a resource to my (future) child when they're asking me for help or a resource other young people. Not everyone has someone like that and this is all information we should know.

All that is to say, I need some help doing my taxes so I will be going to H&R Block to pay them to do it, then I will probably have to pay on my taxes this year for some reason, unbeknownst to me. That is, unless this class is created rapidly or someone is willing/ready to assist me! :)
